Bratislava Christmas Market Locations
Wondering where to find the Christmas markets in Bratislava? Here are some highlights:
Main Square (Hlavné námestie)
The main location of the Bratislava is located in (the very aptly named) Main Square, AKA Hlavné námestie.
Here, you’ll find dozens of cozy stalls selling Slovakian gifts and tasty specialties, along with a bright tree in the corner and a stage for various performances.
Franciscan Square (Františkánske námestie)
Connected to the Main Square is the Franciscan Square, AKA Františkánske námestie, which offers a few additional wooden stalls to explore.
Primate’s Square (Primaciálne námestie)
Permits have also been applied for in Primate’s Square (which is steps away from the aforementioned Bratislava Christmas Market locations), so visitors can likely also expect additional stalls and activities here as well!
Hviezdoslavovo Square (Hviezdoslavovo námestie)
Another Bratislava Christmas Market location you shouldn’t miss is Hviezdoslavovo Square, AKA Hviezdoslavovo námestie.
Here, visitors can find a big skating rink, along with more stalls selling tasty festive food and drink.
Bratislava Castle (Bratislavský hrad)
Established in 2016, the Christmas market at Bratislava Castle is a relative newcomer to the Bratislava Christmas Market scene, but its magical location in one of the city’s best known landmarks more than makes up for it. Plus, it has a view to die for!
Old Market Hall (Stará Tržnica)
While not a traditional Christmas market, the Old Market Hall, AKA Stará Tržnica in Bratislava is well worth a visit at Christmas time, with beautiful festive decorations inside and lots of excellent eating and shopping opportunities.
Best of all? It’s an indoor covered market, making it an ideal place to escape from the cold.
Other Bratislava Christmas Markets
In recent years, the Bratislava Christmas Market scene has seen a lot of new additions beyond the traditional Christmas markets mentioned above.
Some last for only a limited time (maybe a week or two, or just for a weekend), but dates are not yet known for this year.
To give you a taste of what you can expect though, here are some other Bratislava Christmas markets that the city has offered in the past:
- A Zero Waste Christmas Market
- A Vegan Christmas Market
