Hello, are there going to be any Xmas markets in Riga this year? I’m hoping so as I visit in December for a few days
Hi Jane, while no official statement has been made by the Riga Christmas Market’s organizers, a new state of emergency was declared in Latvia in mid-November that (according to this article), would mean Christmas markets are banned from November 15, 2021 – January 11, 2022. This means Xmas markets are unlikely, but no official cancellation has been issued yet as far as we know. We’ll update this post when we learn more! Hope that helps.
