When do Christmas markets open in Bulgaria this year?
While Christmas market tradition isn’t as huge in Bulgaria as central European countries like Germany, Switzerland, France, or Austria – this is beginning to change, with many towns hosting Christmas and New Year bazaars throughout the festive season.

This list is by no means exhaustive, and includes only bigger Christmas events in Bulgaria that we could information about. Let us know in the comments if you have any more we should add (we’re sure there’s plenty!)
NOTE: Most Christmas markets don’t announce their confirmed dates until a few months before, so please excuse the sparse list for the time being! We’ll be sure to update this list with more dates as soon as they are released. Let us know in the comments if you know of any we should add for 2022!
Christmas Market Opening Dates in Bulgaria 2022
As of June 2022, official dates have not yet been announced for any of Bulgaria’s more popular Christmas/New Year markets.
We’ll be updating this page as soon as we hear more, but you can see below for a table of the Christmas and New Year Bazaar dates from 2021. While the dates do vary a bit year to year, we find that previous years’ dates are a helpful gauge for guessing when the festivities will take place this year.
