Il Mercatale
One of the most iconic Christmas markets in Genoa is Il Mercatale, which takes place in the city’s central square, Piazza De Ferrari for just under two weeks before Christmas.
This market prides itself on local Ligurian products and handicrafts, which are sold in the 40+ stalls scattered around the festively decorated square.
Mercatino di San Nicola
Taking place annually for over 30 years, the Mercatino di San Nicola is another one of the most popular and well-known Christmas markets in Genoa.
For a few weeks, this market turns Piazza Piccapietra into a festive wonderland with dozens of market stalls and activities for visitors of all ages.
Natalidea
Taking over Genoa’s Porto Antico for several weeks, Natalidea is another Genoa Christmas market to put on your list.
All around Calata Falcone Borsellino, you’ll be able to find a variety of market stalls selling everything from crafts and food products – perfect for all your Christmas shopping needs, along with a beautiful set of Christmas light displays.
