There are many Christmas markets in Lisbon that take place throughout the festive season. Here are some of the biggest and best known that you should definitely add to your list!
Rossio Christmas Market
The most popular of Lisbon’s Christmas markets is hands down the one that takes place in its central Rossio Square, where you’ll find a spectacular Christmas tree, a handful of wooden chalets selling gifts and Christmas market food, and even a fun Christmas train for kids.
Wonderland Lisbon
For one of the most exciting Christmas events in Lisbon, be sure to visit Parque Eduardo VII for Wonderland Lisbon (Wonderland Lisboa).
Similar to the famous Winter Wonderland in London’s Hyde Park, this event is more of a winter fun fair than a proper Christmas market, but it’s still well worth checking out, with fun activities like a Ferris Wheel, Ice Rink, Christmas Train, Carousel, and trampolines.
Of course, your ticket also includes access to many live performances and fun festive programming.
Alvalade Christmas Market
Set along Avenida da Igreja, the Alvalade Christmas Market is another one of Lisbon’s most popular Christmas markets, with a series of wooden chalets selling handmade gifts, decorations, food, and more… plus a Santa’s House for kids to visit.
Natalis
If you’re looking for indoor Christmas markets in Lisbon, then be sure to visit Natalis, which is a Christmassy trade fair that takes place for a few days during the festive season at Feira Internacional de Lisboa.
Here, you’ll find an array of creative and unique gifts to bring home to all your loved ones, as well as a varied showcase of Christmas decorations, products, and more from 180+ exhibitors.
Crafts and Design Market (Mercado Crafts and Design)
Set in one of Lisbon’s largest parks, Jardim da Estrela, you’ll find another noteworthy Lisbon market to check out during the holidays.
While not strictly a Christmas market, this monthly event is a great place to shop for unique, handmade gifts made with design in mind. If your goal is to find beautiful gifts that aren’t necessarily Christmassy, then this spot is a must-visit.
