Plaza Mayor Christmas Market
The most famous Christmas market in Madrid takes place in Plaza Mayor, where 100+ vendors in wooden chalets sell all kinds of Christmas decorations, ornaments, gifts, and Nativity Scene figures.
The atmosphere here is especially magical thanks to the grandeur of the square itself, which is lined with red-brick buildings that add an extra festive touch to the surroundings.
Plaza de Juan Goytisolo Christmas Market
Additional Christmas market stalls can be found in Plaza de Juan Goytisolo, where you’ll find an assortment of vendors selling gifts and tasty Christmas market food to try.
Plaza de Isabel II Christmas Market
Another Madrid Christmas Market location is Plaza de Isabel II, where you’ll find a variety of vendors selling their wares.
Feria de Artesanía de la Comunidad de Madrid (Craft Fair of the Madrid Community)
Since the 80s, this market has been a signature event in the Madrid calendar, with over 150 artisans coming together to showcase their handcrafted products, from jewelry and leather crafts to pottery and ceramics.
While they usually host several editions of their market throughout the year, the Christmas edition of their event is especially noteworthy, thanks to its stellar selection of unique gifts.
Plaza de España
While not a traditional Madrid Christmas Market, it’s still worth noting the festivities taking place in Plaza de España, which include a 450m squared ice rink, refreshment stalls, and a small market.
As mentioned above, it is possible that the artisans’ fair will take place in this square once again this year, but that is still TBC.
Madrid Río Christmas Market
Another noteworthy Madrid Christmas market can be found by Casa del Reloj.
The Madrid Río Christmas Market is a charming little market with a variety of food stalls, a carousel, and a large Christmas tree – the perfect cozy place to spend a day or evening!
El Corte Inglés Castellana Christmas Market
In the parking lot of the Corte Inglés de Castellana, you’ll find another one of Madrid’s most popular Christmas markets.
Here, you’ll find a variety of vendors selling gifts as well as some gourmet food options to try out.
Parque de Atracciones
Last but not least, for one of the most exciting Christmas events in Madrid, don’t miss the Christmas festivities at Parque de Atracciones, an amusement park which goes absolutely all out for the holidays.
In addition to the park’s usual thrills (like seven rollercoasters!), you’ll find a large variety of festive programming, from shows and performances to beautifully illuminated decorations.
